Eyes without a face
Date
2024 - ongoing
We all use some sort of mask to shield ourselves from what we don’t want people to see in ourselves. ‘Eyes Without a Face’ is a photo series that captures my subjects to express themselves through some sort of mask to hide their intention or to put up with their own type of front. It’s open for the audience to interpret what their intention may be, even if they may be ulterior motives or clear motives. Rather than in a studio, I prefer to keep these masked individuals in unconventional places as we don’t know anyone’s motives in public spaces.
l’ve always romanticized not being able to see beneath the mask; both in a physical and metaphorical sense. and look through the eyes of the subject. Eyes can say so much about the subject and their views of the world, whatever that may be. Though even when eyes may not be shown it is what’s being presented to the audience that tells us their status or makes us wonder about their intention.
